Toronto, ON – July 21, 2014 – Award-winning short film director and producerGeordie Sabbagh has announced the cast for his feature film directorial debutA SUNDAY KIND OF LOVE, a coming-of-age story for the 30-somethings. The film will star Dylan Taylor (Covert Affairs, Copper, Defying Gravity, Reasonable Doubt, Tideland), Meghan Heffern (What If/The F Word, Old Stock, Chloe, Blue Mountain State), and Melanie Scrofano (Citizen Gangster, Robocop, Saw IV, The Listener). Sabbagh, who also penned the screenplay, is producing with Ryan West, while Avi Federgreen and Sean Cisterna are executive producing. Principal photography is set to begin August 26 in Toronto.

A Sunday Kind of Love is the story of Adam, who is a struggling writer on the verge of giving it all up. His books have failed, he’s broke and his girlfriend wants to move on. As he struggles to finish what could be his last novel, he falls for a smart, beautiful woman named Emma, who also goes by the name of Death. Emma offers him everlasting fame and a chance to take his place among the greats, with one large caveat. In one night, Adam must decide if what he’s dreamed about is worth dying for, and if the woman he truly loves is in the present or the hereafter.

Sabbagh’s most recent short film, The Proposal starring Missy Peregrym, will screen at the ComicCon Film Fest (July 24) and Fantasia Film Festival (July 28) while his other producing credits include Old Stock and the horror Clean Break. He is a graduate of the Canadian Film Centre.

West’s producing credits include the short films Earworm, So Nice to Love You, Way Up There, and Day of The Living?.

A Sunday Kind of Love is one of six films participating in the Indiecan10K initiative. As part of the process the Sabbagh and West raised $15,092 CAD (150% more than their goal) through an Indiegogo campaign, which wrapped earlier this month. These funds will provide the cash budget for the film while in-kind services, with an approximate value of $200K, will be provided by the following: William F. White International Inc. Instinct Entertainment, Front Row Insurance, The Rights Company, Brenda Blake, Agency 71 Inc., and Urban Post Production. Federgreen’s Indiecan Entertainment will distribute the film in Canada.
